Information glut: Communications breakdown

Berlin:
In Europe, Australia and around the globe, despite an explosive growth of new channels, internal communication in small businesses routinely become dysfunctional, destructive and even dangerous. New media abound: E-mail, attached electronic memos and newsletters, the company web-site, intranets, are all based on new technologies. Yet communication suffers. Will the town crier be rehired? Will company policy be distributed by SMS?

You've got spam

The new media have created a new problem: Information glut! Communication breaks down because there is too much information. There is a limit to how much information people can assimilate, so today everyone has to choose which channels matter to them. Even in a small company, this means different people will receive different information streams. They never contain the exact same information, and often the information is contradictory, inconsistent or just incomplete.

Controlled structuring of information flow is necessary, even for small businesses. And let's face it, it is not a simple task. That's why AINTscience was designed. As an information taxonomy, it enables companies to structure information according to a standard set of rules and principles.

Very simply put: Every company has a file server. Used well, it can serve as the main archive of company documentation, where everybody goes for the truth of the matter, the bottom line, the commandments, the pecking order, the explanation, the help and the rest of the story.

All you gotta do is 1. get AINTscience, 2. read it, 3. implement it, 4. use it and maintain it.

It ain't science, and it works.

Summary: When an overabundance of channels cause inconsistent, contradictory or incomplete communications, a business document file server that is well structured according to AINTscience principles can be relied on for securing an effective reference source of internal business documents and data.
